What is Southeast Asian design, and can or should it be defined? This session will discuss the opportunities and challenges being faced and overcome by some of Southeast Asia's leading furniture/product designers – in terms of identity and meaning, manufacturing capabilities, supply chain and connection to markets. They will share their thoughts on how and why design has evolved in this region, from traditional or vernacular forms to present-day directions.
